Course Selection Resources




When to Register

  • Returning students: You will receive a registration day and time prior to registration. You may register for courses at any point between that time and the end of the drop/add period.
  • First-year students:You can register for courses via EagleApps after confirming your enrollment in the program. When choosing courses for your first semester, it is best to follow the course of study plan set forth in the.
  • If you have any questions or concerns about any of the courses and your course of study, please do not hesitate to contact DirectorKevin Powers.


How to Register Online

Use the quick link above to access BC’s online course registration system, EagleApps. The system is also available in the Agora portal under “My Services.” Make a list of courses you intend to take, then use the tutorial link to learn the system and complete registration. For help understanding course requirements and offerings, see the Course Selection Resources above.


Registration Holds

Students may have a hold placed on their account due to missing immunizations or an unsettled student balance. Any holds on a student’s record will block course registration for that student. The student should contact the appropriate department to resolve the hold before proceeding.


Drop/Add

You may drop classes after the add/drop period, provided your course load does not fall below the credit minimum (outlined below). However, this may result in the receipt of a “W” (withdrawn) on your transcript. You may only add a class after add/drop with permission from both the professor and the Dean for Academic Affairs.

  • Per-semester minimum: 3
  • Per-semester maximum: 12

The MLS Program LinkedIn Group

A professional group for Boston College students, faculty, alumni (undergraduate, graduate, and law) and friends and supporters of our MLS in Cybersecurity, Risk & Governance program who are interested in networking (e.g., posting of jobs and internships, industry and government events, etc.) with each other and collaborating on the varying cybersecurity issues faced by industry and governments. Our ISACA MLS Student Group is BC’s local chapter of ISACA New England, focusing on connecting students with opportunities in cybersecurity, information systems and technology, computer science, and business management, among others. BC Law Women in Cybersecurity (WiCy) Student Chapter

Boston College Law School Women in Cybersecurity (WiCy) is a registered student chapter of, a global nonprofit for the recruitment and advancement of women in cybersecurity. As a student chapter, BC Law has access to WiCy’s extensive mentorship and training resources. Chapter members gain access to WiCy technical skills workshops, networking events, scholarship opportunities, and WiCy Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions. Membership is not limited to female students. All are welcome to join and attend meetings!

Graduation Process


The University awards degrees in May, August, and December and holds a Commencement Ceremony in May each year. Students who complete all degree requirements by May and apply to graduate are eligible to participate in the Ceremony of that same year. Students who completed all degree requirements in August or December and apply to graduate are eligible to participate in the University’s next official Commencement date in May.

Official communications are only sent to your BC email; please check it frequently. If your BC email account has been deactivated, please provide us with your preferred email address by emailing bclaw.sas@bc.edu. You must include your full name, Eagle ID number, degree program, graduation date, and daytime phone number.

Requirements

Step 1: Submit Your Graduation Application

The must be completed as a prerequisite for graduation and must be submitted by the deadlines below.

Application deadline based on graduation date:

  • December graduation: October 1
  • May graduation: February 1
  • August graduation: June 1


Step 2: Verify Diploma Name

Students can use the Verify Diploma Information section in the to provide their names as they wish them to appear on their diplomas. This will ensure that a graduate's diploma is printed correctly and that the graduate's name is listed in the University's Commencement program. Specific communications will come from BC’s Student Services team, so please keep an eye out for communications on your BC email.

Please note that only a graduate's name and degree are printed on the diploma. If you have any questions about updating your diploma name, please contact Student Services at 617-552-3300.

Step 3: Complete the Student Loan Exit Interview (if applicable)

In March/April, all graduating BC Law students who have received federal student loans and/or disbursements from Boston College must complete an online exit interview.

You will receive an email directing you to complete the online exit(s). Failure to complete an exit interview or resolve any outstanding financial obligation to the University will result in a hold on your diploma and transcript.

For answers to questions regarding student loans repayment, call the Office of Student Services at 617­-552-­3300 or 800-­294-­0294 and ask to speak with a member of the Loan Repayment staff. You can also send an email to borrower@bc.edu.


Step 4: Confirm your participation at the Commencement Ceremonies

There are two May Commencement Exercises in which graduated students can participate:

  1. BC Law School Commencement Ceremony
  2. Boston College Commencement

Keep an eye out for communications via email and regularly check the BC Law Commencement website so you do not miss relevant updates to ensure your participation.


Step 5: Order Cap and Gown

Wearing a cap and gown is mandatory to attend any of the graduation ceremonies. Please keep an eye out for communications on your BC email and the BC Law Commencement Website. If you have any questions, please email lawevent@bc.edu.


Step 6: Commencement Name Pronunciation

Please submit the to share your name exactly as you would like it read as you cross the stage at the BC Law Commencement Ceremony in May.
